A browser space MMO that keeps running when you log off
VoidRift is a persistent multiplayer space game that runs in a browser tab. There is nothing to install and no client to patch. You fly between stations, move cargo, take contracts, and deal with other pilots who have their own plans for the same routes.
What kind of space game is this?
VoidRift sits between a space trading sim and a persistent multiplayer world. You are a pilot with a ship, a hold, and a balance. What you do with those is open — most pilots start by running cargo between stations because it is steady work, then branch into whatever pays better once they know the map.
It is not a twitch game. Flights take real time, cooldowns run whether or not the tab is open, and the economy keeps moving while you sleep. That makes it a game you check in on rather than one you have to grind in long sittings.
What you actually do
Run cargo
Buy low at one station, sell high at another. Prices move with player demand, so routes that everyone knows stop being worth flying.
Smuggle contraband
Outposts post demand for goods you are not supposed to be carrying. It pays better than clean cargo, and customs get more suspicious the more often you run the same route.
Fight and place bounties
Scout a target, commit to the attack, and live with the result. You can put a price on a rival and let someone else take the shot.
Build a syndicate
Group up, pool a shared vault, run crew jobs that need more than one pilot, and hold territory against other syndicates.

Why browser-based
A browser game has one real advantage: it is always one tab away. No launcher, no multi-gigabyte download, no waiting for an update before you can play. Progress lives on the server, so the same account works from a desktop at home and a phone on the move.
If you want it to feel more like an installed game, there is an optional desktop Companion that puts timers and alerts on top of whatever else you are doing. It is a convenience, not a requirement.
